πŸ“£ Exclude products from your product finder

Our latest release features some real nice functionality regarding the control you have over which products show up in your product finder.

Publish changes to your product finder without matching every single product

If you want to provide excellent product advice, it's vital to ensure that every single product in your catalogue is matched to the Q&A you created. We've always encouraged this by blocking updates to your product finder unless every product had been matched.

Since the launch of our product feed feature in February, it's become much more likely for new products to appear automatically within the catalogue. This also meant that you couldn't publish other changes to your product finder (e.g. a small copy change in your Q&A), without first matching these new products.

We've changed this. You can now update your product finder without matching every single (new) product first. The unmatched products simply aren't shown to your customer until you've matched and published them.

Unmatched products used to be a blocker for updates. Now we simply recommend that you match them, but you can still update your product finder!

Exclude products from your product finder

We've released a feature that enables you to set a product status for products in πŸ“¦ Catalogue.

🟒 Active products will show up in your product finder. Products that are set to βšͺ️ Inactive will no longer show up within the product finder. They can be reactivated at any time.

What this means is that you can now exclude specific products from showing up in the product finder, without having to change the product source (CSV or feed) itself.

Excluding products within Aiden can be helpful if you:

  1. Are using your product feed for multiple purposes, not just for your Aiden product finder.
  2. Have seasonal products that you only want to feature in your product finder for part of the year.
  3. Have multi-variable products within your catalogue.
Easily change the product status of a product to inactive, and reactivate it at any time.

Multi-variable products

Setting the status of products helps to create a more qualitative and diverse product advice. For example, your catalogue may feature the same product in different colors, quantities or sizes. This could lead to an advice page that showed too many similar products. From now on, you can exclude such duplicates, leading to a much more diverse advice!

🎯 Goal: Strive for a diverse product advice that matches with your customers needs
